Oh P-p-p-please!!!

Come on yahoo, who really cares! Yes, yes, I know smoking causes deaths, costs the country millions of dollars in health care costs, but its not like Barak Obama endorses smoking. The answer he gave Tom Brokav, for anyone who wants to look up the Youtube video says something to the effect that he has tried to quit smoking, has fallen off the wagon a couple of times (falling off the wagon was euphemism Obama himself used. Trust me, I wouldn't forget something like that,) but overall he's trying to quit.

What's been funny though is to google "Obama admits to smoking". There was generally one out of two results, the news results either had a scolding tone like "Obama needs to come out and denounce smoking..." Or the folks at media matters accused reporters of being right wing puppets leveling a slanderous attack (hey media matters, of all the things to criticize Obama on, I do not believe that Rush Limbaugh will be pointing any of his formally nicotine stained fingers at Obama on this one. The American right generally doesn't care about tobacco and is not a big supporter of the anti-tobacco movement.)

President elect Obama said a lot of really important things on the economy, and that fact that newspapers are running whole stories on Obama's answer on smoking is not only absurd in our current predicament, it's insulting.
